Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland

We offer face-to-face confidential counselling, telephone helpline, email support and specialist information.

Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland (RCTN) is a charity that provides services to women and girls over the age of 13 who live, work or study in Tyneside and Northumberland. We do that through Tyneside Rape Crisis Centre and Grace Northumberland Rape Crisis.

For women who need to talk to someone about rape or sexual abuse please call our helpline on 0800 035 2794

We are completely independent of the criminal justice system including the police and we provide free, confidential support, information and counselling to women who have experienced sexual violence.

We won’t judge, we don’t criticise, we listen. Find out more about our services.

We provide free, safe, professional support and information for women and girls over 13 who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives.

MYTH

I paid for it, I have the right to get what I paid for.

TRUTH

Anyone selling sex has the right to withdraw consent at any time, even whilst having sex, if they want to stop or do not want to perform a particular sexual act regardless of whether or not this has been paid for.
