Activism Group 2017-12-13T17:15:46+00:00

The RCTN Activists are a group of local women; some of whom are survivors; all of whom are passionate about ending sexual violence.

By speaking-out and educating the group aims to provide indirect support and solidarity for women who have used or could use the Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland services.

  • For women:  Activities which aim to empower and support women to access Rape Crisis services, for example #webelieveyou campaign.
  • For society:  Activities which aim to challenge both women and men to consider a range of societal trends which contribute to the occurrence of sexual violence, for example; patriarchy, lad culture, everyday sexism and sexualisation of women.
  • Fundraising:  Raising money for our services for women and girls and to raise awareness.

Women interested in volunteering with us should read Our Mission Statement which includes our statement on feminism.
