16 Days of Actions

16 days of Activism is an international campaign to raise awareness about violence against women and girls (VAWG) with the ultimate aim of preventing and eliminating VAWG.

This year for 16 Days of Activism we are asking you to take part in our 16 actions! These small actions don’t take long and consist of a variety of activities such as listening to music, signing up to our newsletter, and reading our research.

It is estimated that 71% of women have experienced some form of sexual harassment in a public place.

Day 4: Donate to RCTN

Women and girls need your help. Violence against women and girls is often overlooked and heavily underfunded. Your one off or monthly donation will help us provide vital support to women and girls who have experienced any form of sexual violence.

The money may go towards funding our helpline, helping women with travel costs to get to and from appointments and toiletries.

To donate, you can click the button below.

Day 5: Learn about intersectionality

We need to speak up for all women survivors of violence and actively work towards ending injustice and prejudice, to do this we need to have an intersectional view of violence against women and girls. Every woman and girl is different and their personal characteristics may mean that they are more likely to experience violence or may experience different types of violence.

By clicking the button below you can listen to a Ted Talk by Kimberle Crenshaw called ‘The urgency of intersectionality’ where she discusses the importance of looking at race and gender bias.
