We work to raise awareness about sexual violence and to actively challenge the values, beliefs and behaviour which contribute to women’s oppression.
We do this through campaigns and activism and through participation in research.

#WishISaidOur activists developed and run our #WishISaid campaign aims to get you talking about Sexual Harassment in public places like the street, mostly of women and girls, perpetrated mostly by men and boys.
Shout-Up! asks everyone to adopt a zero-tolerance approach to sexual harassment, making our bars, pubs and clubs safer places for people of all genders.
Breaking the Silence, Breaking the Barriers The Activists aimed to explore the impact that women’s intersecting identities have on their ability to identify with the following terms: victim, survivor, trauma, healing and recovery.
It All Adds Up It All Adds Up focuses on the safety of women and girls from sexual harassment in public spaces. The campaign was created in 2023 by Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland and funded by Northumbria PCC to raise awareness, educate and change behaviours, surrounding the everyday interactions and misogynistic behaviour many women and girls face.
This resource has been created as part of the campaign, to continue the awareness raising and education around violence against women and girls. This open-access, digital resource pack has been produced for use by education professionals in secondary school settings (and beyond) to aid learning around sexual harassment. This resource has been designed for multiple educational settings and is aimed at young people aged 14 –18 years old.
DigitalMe From October to December 2019 a group of women worked together with Digital Voice for Communities and Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland.
The women learned how to use digital art, animation, scriptwriting, video editing and voice recording to tell their stories of survival and recovery from sexual violence.
Roll Down Your Skirt! Young women and girls told us that they are having their school uniforms ‘policed’ in a sexist and sexualised manner. Our volunteer activists established a Young Women’s Steering Group to guide this work.
