16 Days of Activism 2023

The global campaign, 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, is an important time for everyone to unite in calling for an end to violence against women and girls (VAWG). The campaign began in 1991 when a group of activists wanted to highlight the prevelance of VAWG and encourage organisations and individuals to work together to prevent and ultimately eliminate VAWG.

It is estimated that 1 in 3 women worldwide will experience violence at some point in their lives, but we believe the real figure is far greater.

16 Days of Activism starts on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on Saturday 25th November and continues until Sunday 10th December where it ends on International Human Rights Day.

This year for 16 Days of Activism we are asking you to take part in our 16 actions! These small actions don’t take long and consist of a variety of activities such as listening to music, signing up to our newsletter, and reading our research.

We will be posting a new action everyday on our social media. If you don’t follow us on social media you can by clicking the links below!
