Coming Soon – Online Training

We will soon be launching our new online training opportunities.  The training is aimed at increasing knowledge and confidence about sexual violence and those who have experienced it.

Our online training can be accessed at a time that is convenient for you.   The training is flexible, learners can complete the training in short chunks.

The online training is aimed at increasing knowledge and confidence about sexual violence and those who have experienced it.

We have developed two workshops: Sexual Violence and Older Women Awareness and Adult Rape and Sexual Assault Awareness.  The training will be launched soon.

The outcomes and benefits of the training are:

Adult Rape and Sexual Assault Awareness Training

  • Define adult rape and sexual assault.
  • Identify the prevalence of adult rape and sexual assault.
  • Begin to understand the societal context of adult rape and sexual assault.
  • Begin to recognise the impact of adult rape and sexual assault on individuals.
  • Identify barriers to disclosure and help seeking.
  • Begin to understand how to support someone to overcome barriers to disclosure.

Participants in our Rape & Sexual Assault Online Awareness Training pilot told us:

“The content keeps you engaged throughout the training.”

“Overall I thought it was easy to understand, easy to read, and was interesting. It didn’t feel overwhelming but I feel like I have come away with a good understanding and practical knowledge.”

I found this training informative and reassuring as I now feel confident about dealing sensitively and appropriately should anybody choose to disclose any experience of rape or sexual assault.”

Sexual Violence and Older Women Awareness Training

  • Begin to understand the nature & prevalence of sexual violence in relation to older women.
  • Begin to understand the context of sexual violence in relation to older women.
  • Recognise the impact that sexual violence can have on older women.
  • Identify the barriers older women face in disclosing and reporting sexual violence.

Participants in our Sexual Violence and Older Women Online Awareness Training pilot told us:

“Very engaging.”

“It certainly held my interest – not too long – well paced and varied – interesting facts interspersed with very powerful case studies and videos”

“I learnt a lot and will take a lot of it away to reflect on and I am certain it will help me in my direct work with older women.”

“I think this training would be useful for anybody and everybody who works, or spends time with, older women; in the community, in care homes, at regular social gatherings, but also in the workplace”
