This paper will present the emerging findings from an on-going study examining crime and safety at UK music festivals. Drawing on a survey of 487 festival attendees in 2017-18, this paper challenges the dominant cultural constructions of festival sites, which the results suggest are actually generally safer than comparable public spaces.
Hannah Bows, a researcher from Durham University will speak about the findings of her research.
