Volunteer in frontline roles

To volunteer in frontline services we need women who feel they are able to work in an emotionally challenging environment and who are prepared to commit to regular and long-term help.

We are not able to support counselling placements or have volunteers as part of our counselling team.

Women volunteer with us to deliver a range of services for survivors. The route into all frontline volunteer roles is via experience in our Helpline and Email Supporter role. For more information for the Helpline & Email Support Volunteer – Role Description & Person Spec

Women interested in volunteering with us should read Mission & Values.

Ex-Client Involvement in Volunteer Roles

Our voluntary roles are open to women who have used our services in the past.  We have  the following ex-client & volunteering timeframes:

  • Direct service delivery roles: Ex-Clients can volunteer if 12 month have lapsed between the person ending their service use and them becoming active in the role.  This means that ex-clients can start the recruitment, training and induction for direct service delivery volunteer roles before the 12 month break has ended but should not carry out any direct client work.

Or

  • Non-direct service delivery roles: Ex-Clients can volunteer if the ex-client has explored with the Volunteer Coordinator, the impact that volunteering will have on their recovery, wellbeing and emotional resilience. It will be the Volunteer Coordinator’s decision whether a time out between ending service use and beginning an active volunteer role should be implemented.

If you are currently using any of our services you will be put on the Volunteer Recruitment Waiting List until you have ended your service use and the relevant timeframe has passed.

You are not required to inform us that you have used our services, this information is considered private and confidential.  You are asked to take these timeframes into consideration when applying for volunteer roles.
