Reclaim The Night March 2026
Fri, 27th March 2026
(Recheduled from Novembr 2025)
6.00 pm – Meet at the Bigg Market
6.15 pm – March from Bigg Market to Baltic Square
7.00 pm – Rally at Baltic Square
Join us for Newcastle/Gateshead’s annual Reclaim the Night march and rally, an evening of solidarity, protest and empowerment!
Bring your placards, whistles, friends and family and make your voices heard.
Together we will reclaim our streets, speak out against sexual harassment and demand an end to violence against women and girls.
As in previous years, this year’s march is open to cis women, trans women and non-binary people who feel that women’s spaces are right for them. Children, including boys up to the age of 14, are also welcome. The rally is open to all.
We recognise that some women may need to attend with male PAs or carers, and in these circumstances, these men may join the march to ensure equal access. We ask that all who support Reclaim the Night respect our call for a women-only march.
We are proud to announce that our volunteer, Donna Wilson, will represent us at the Reclaim the Night Rally. Donna said:
“I’m reclaiming the night, because after years of being silenced I was able to find my voice & reclaimed ME!
Reclaiming the night is so important to me because I’m passionate about women having voices, I believe no woman should be silenced due to fear! When you want to be heard, make some noise and the Reclaim the Night movement allows us collectively, to do just that.”
Donna has extensive experience of supporting survivors of sexual violence and is also a member of the organisation’s Helpline Steering Group, guiding the development and delivery of this vital service. Donna is a survivor of Sexual Violence and past user of our services. She understands the power of specialist support services and is dedicated to making sure other women and girls have access to them.
