This week is Small Charity Week!

We started our journey in November 1978 in a small room on Pink Lane in Newcastle City Centre, and here we are nearly 45 years later!

We are an organisation who supports women and girls 13+ who have experienced any form of sexual violence. We are for all women including, but not limited to, women who identify as Lesbian, Bi, Trans and/or Questioning; Black and Minoritised women, Refugee women; and disabled women. Our definition of women-only includes Trans women and non-binary people who identify that women’s services are right for them.

As a small charity we rely on funders and generous donations from the general public.

This week, we would like to highlight Charlie!

Charlie and her friends are trying to raise £10,000 for women’s services by running the Great North Run, completing the Three Peak Challenge and jumping 15,000ft out of a plane!

So far, Charlie has raised an incredible £7,700!

Charlie said: ‘I’m taken aback not only at the generosity shown by people to get us to £7,700 but also by the conversations that have started as a result. Many women either expressing that they’ve experienced unwanted attention or that they will be speaking to their relations about being extra vigilant on keeping women safe. Finally, I am looking forward to getting the fundraising tasks underway next month to get us to our £10,000 target!’
