Social Media House Rules

We are pleased to welcome you to the RCTN community, where we unite to address and to end violence against women and girls. Our commitment is to maintain a profile on social media platforms which mirrors our core values and mission and provides a safer and supportive space for all. Systems of oppression mean we cannot provide a truly safe space, but we are committed to increasing safety as far as we can.

To provide a safer, welcoming, and inclusive space which is true to our mission of diversity, inclusivity, and respect, we have one request: please follow our house rules.

If the rules are not respected, we will take action such as removing posts, comments and blocking accounts.

Before you post, take a moment to reflect, and keep in mind that real individuals manage our social media accounts. Please show the same consideration as you would in face-to-face interactions.

Here are the things we ask you to avoid in our community:

1. Discriminatory or inappropriate language (e.g., sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, classism and ageism).

2. Personal attacks, threats, or defamatory comments.

3. Hate, aggression, or abuse toward an individual or group of people.

4. Misinformation or misleading content.

5. Religious intolerance of any kind.

6. Offensive or distressing content, as well as graphic imagery.

7. Spam or sales posts.

Let’s keep this space respectful and welcoming for everyone!

Any changes to our rules will be made public via our website.
