Sexual Violence Against Older Women Project

Training for Third Sector Agencies

For organisations in Northumberland, this training will occur on the morning of Thursday 7th November 2019.

For organisations in Tyneside, this training will occur on the morning of 21st November 2019.

As part of the Sexual Violence Against Older Women’s (SVAOW) project funded by Comic Relief, Rape Crisis will be delivering SVAOW training to third sector and community organisations in Northumberland & Tyneside. The training will help to raise awareness regarding the nature, prevalence and impact of SVAOW, looking at the myths, realities and barriers to accessing services.  It aims to increase professional’s confidence when dealing with SWAOW.

As places are limited, RCTN are asking for expressions of interest from 3rd sector and community practitioners who work with older women. Places will be allocated and confirmed with those who have been offered a place later in October, when details regarding the venue will be confirmed.

If you would like to make an expression of interest, please email Margie Cooper, Rape Crisis Tyneside & Northumberland on .   Please indicate which training session you would like to attend.  Also the name of the organisation you work for and your role, with a brief statement on why attending SVAOW training is important for your work.
